The Wide Bank 28 DS3 Access Multiplexer is available in quad Digital Signal Cross-Connect Level 1 (DSX-1) increments up to the maximum of seven quad cards supporting 28 DSX-1 connections.
Built-in options include 1:7 DSX-1 electronic redundancy, 1:1 controller electronics redundancy and
electronics redundancy with 1+1 network protection. The unit features solid-state fuse-less protection,
low power consumption, hot card swapping, DS3 and DSX-1 loopbacks for fault isolation,
built-in PRBS Bit Error Rate Testing (BERT), and integrated Network Interface Unit (NIU) functionality.
Configuration and maintenance testing is provided by a command-line interface or an SNMP
interface.
